an attempt to resurrect a fic

I'm still not done with ff8 -- currently in the state of tooling around time compression trying to stock up enough magic and get my GF's enough abilities that I might have a chance of winning. I hate grinding like this but I also don't want to waste my time and just get killed a thousand times in a row! Anyway I have the Ragnarok and I can't play too often because hitting all the draw points on the island closest to heaven/hell is a repetitive stress injury trigger for me.

In the meantime, I've been working my way through the entire Squall/Seifer tag on AO3 and assembling a FF8 playlist. To try to reinspire myself to write fic, I signed up for a FF8 bingo card! But I still have no ideas.

I did, however, go looking for the one ff8 fic I did write in my gdocs, and along the way I found one I had started that I'm pretty interested in finishing! Unfortunately I can also see why I abandoned it -- because I have no idea where it was going. So, I'm just gonna drop it here and if anyone has any thoughts about where to take it lmk!
